
Through the Arizona Coyotes short history thus far, there are three players that standout as the best to ever do it in the Valley.

Since coming to the Valley in 1996, the Arizona Coyotes have had some memorable players. The question is who are the three best players to ever wear the Coyotes uniform?

When people think about the Coyotes, Shane Doan is the player that must come to mind.
Doan played in Arizona from the team’s inaugural season in 1996 all the way until 2017. He served as the captain of the Coyotes from 2003-2017.
Through his 20 seasons in Arizona, Doan had 395 goals, 560 assists and 955 assists leading the franchise in all three categories.
It wasn’t just his play on the ice but Doan was the face of hockey in Arizona and he really helped grow the sport in the Desert into what it is today.

Keith Tkachuk played with the Coyotes from 1996-2003 and was nothing short of spectacular during that time span.
Tkachuk served as the Coyotes first ever captain helping Arizona make a name for themselves through their early years in the NHL.
During his time in the Valley, Tkachuk was a point machine tallying a total of 179 goals, 155 assists and 334 points in 332 games.
It was Tkachuk’s strong goal scoring abilities and physical, intimidating play which made him one of the most feared players in the league.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson was drafted by the Coyotes with the sixth overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft and played with in Arizona from 2010-2021.
Ekman-Larsson had 128 goals, 260 assists and 388 points in 769 games ranking second amongst all Coyotes players in points just behind Doan.
A year following Doan’s retirement, Ekman-Larsson became the captain of the Coyotes, a position he served from 2018-2021.
Through his stint in the Valley, Ekman-Larsson blossomed into an incredible defenceman and will always be remembered for his consistent play at both ends of the ice.
