Josh Doan put on a show, scoring two goals in his first career NHL game on Tuesday night as the Coyotes defeated the Blue Jackets 6-2.

From running around the Arizona Coyotes’ locker room as a little boy to playing for that very same team years later, Josh Doan seems to be living in a Hollywood movie.
Doan scored two goals in his NHL debut on Tuesday night, leading the Coyotes to a 6-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
On Monday, Doan was called up from the Tucson Roadrunners which created a lot of excitement surrounding the Coyotes.
While the Coyotes were actually officially eliminated from playoff contention on Tuesday, their game against the Blue Jackets, which was really supposed to be meaningless for both teams, felt monumental all because of Doan’s arrival.
Multiple former Coyotes’ players as well as members of both the Arizona State Sun Devils hockey team and Roadrunners were in attendance to watch Doan.
In the second period, Doan scored his first career NHL goal and Mullett Arena went into a frenzy, feeling like a playoff type atmosphere.
If that wasn’t enough, Doan tallied his second goal in the third period en route to a decisive Coyotes victory.
Aside from his two goals, Doan played a really solid game. He used his strength to create high quality offensive chances and coach André Tourigny seemed to be impressed.
“Doan played a good game,” Tourigny said. “Not just his goals, the way he played. He had a good stick, played the game the right way and most importantly for us, we are talking a lot about going to the net, he was at the net, getting his stick on it. We know he is good at that…”
For Doan, this was a night that he will certainly never forget.
“The whole night itself is going to be one that I remember forever,” Doan said. “The biggest thing I was told was to soak it in and soak in your first ever game. You only get one first game and it’s a game I’ll never forget. It will be hard to beat this one ever.”
It was truly a special night for both Doan and the Coyotes organization as a whole that will live in the team’s memory book forever.
Shane Doan may have been the first member of the Doan family to play hockey in the Valley, but Josh is beginning to make a name for himself in Arizona.
From one Doan to another, Coyotes hockey is just in their blood.
