Logan Cooley's two-goal performance helped lead the Arizona Coyotes to a 4-2 preseason victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.

Logan Cooley brought his A-game to California on Thursday night helping lead the Arizona Coyotes to a 4-2 preseason victory against the Anaheim Ducks with two goals.

After a scoreless first period, the 19-year-old center struck gold in the second. Jason Zucker stole the puck behind Anaheim’s net finding a wide open Cooley who buried it past goaltender John Gibson as he was still trying to find his positioning.

Cooley saved his best goal for last. Up 2-0 in the third period, the Coyotes found themselves battling on the penalty kill. Following a blocked shot by the Coyotes that helped clear the zone, Cooley was off to the races and was all alone on a breakaway until he was slashed leading to a penalty shot.

In Arizona’s first preseason game in Australia against the Los Angeles Kings, Cooley scored a shoutout goal so he has been in this sort of situation before. He was able to do just that again, fooling Gibson almost just floating the puck top-shelf putting the Coyotes up 3-0.

Cooley continues to show that he is ready for the NHL and that going into the regular season, he will be a problem for opposing defenses to contain offensively.

Matias Maccelli and Alexander Kerfoot were also able to score last night capping off what was one of the team’s most impressive performances of the preseason.

The Coyotes have one more preseason game on Saturday in Tucson, Arizona against the Ducks before heading to the Meadowlands for their season opener against the New Jersey Devils on October 13.
