The club rallied with two goals, one late in regulation and the winner halfway through overtime, to stun the Boston Bruins Saturday.

Michael Kesselring grew up rooting for the Boston Bruins in New Hampshire.

It was only fitting he scored the winning goal to complete an epic rally for the Utah Hockey Club.

Spurred on by another deafening crowd, Kesselring slotted the winning goal 2:46 into overtime over the shoulder of Jeremy Swayman, and Utah (4-1-1) started a three-game homestand with a huge win over the Bruins Saturday at Delta Center.

Boston (3-2-1) started the scoring first with Cole Koepke's goal midway through the second period, but Utah only seemed to get stronger as the game wore on, even after Kailer Yamamoto's apparent goal was waved off due to an offside with 12 minutes left.

"I thought everybody brought their A-game today," Kesselring said. "They're a good team over there; a really tight-checking game."

One of them was rookie defenceman Vladislav Kolyachanok, who scored just his third NHL goal with five minutes left to tie the game.

Kolyachanok burst in off the far wing side, took a perfect pass from Nick Schmaltz, powered to the front, and effortlessly lifted a backhand shot over a sprawling Jeremy Swayman, sending the Delta Center into bedlam.

When asked if he could make that kind of move, head coach Andre Tourigny confirmed Kolyachanok has more than that in his toolbox to become a great defenceman in the league.

Those are was what was required for most of Saturday's game, as Utah fought their way through a defensive battle, spirited on by another raucous home crowd.

But of course, in the long run, Tourigny said tonight's win won't mean much if the team doesn't come out and perform again the same way Tuesday against Ottawa.

"Obviously we're a team that likes to score, but we can also play a tight-checking game," Kesselring said. "We played a complete game."
