Many fans are talking about Connor Ingram's spectacular play in net, but here is a more in depth look on what the Coyotes goaltender is like off the ice and in the locker room.

    Calm, Cool and collective.

That's the best way to describe how Connor Ingram is a goaltender.

The Coyotes are currently on a five game winning streak mostly due to the spectacular play of Ingram who is being talked about in the same breath as some of the NHL’s best goalies.

Ingram holds an 11-3 record, 2.23 GAA and .930 SV% to go along with two shutouts. Ingram’s incredible stretch helped him earn the NHL first star of the week a few days ago.

It’s Ingram’s calm composure in net that really stands out about his game. These traits also define Ingram as a person as his on and off ice personalities do correlate with each other.

“I’m a pretty relaxed human being,” Ingram said. “I don’t know if very many people have heard me yell in my life and stuff like that. Away from the rink, I have had a lot of bad days in my life and none of them are hockey related. This is my escape and this is my enjoyment.”

In the locker room, Ingram is fun to be around and actually has a great sense of humor. By the way his teammates talk about him, it’s clear Ingram is beloved by the entire team.

There is a lighthearted side to Ingram, the way he talks with the media and his attitude after games which is what makes him such an entertaining player and person.

However, when it comes to in-game situations, Ingram is locked in and his calm demeanor only helps the Coyotes gain even more confidence.

Another great aspect of Ingram as a person is he is humble. Despite getting an increased amount of attention recently, Ingram never makes anything about himself and is very team oriented.

“I don’t think it’s me doing anything special,” Ingram said on the Coyotes winning streak. “We’ve had a stretch of five really good hockey games. It’s good hockey in front of me and it’s making my job a lot easier too.”

It’s not just his skill, Ingram’s personality off the ice has certainly helped him reach this point as an extremely effective goaltender in the NHL who only seems to be getting better.
