Through the first four games of the season, Coyotes forward Logan Cooley has been statistically one of the best rookies.

It's only been four games but where does Arizona Coyotes forward Logan Cooley stand amongst other rookies in the NHL.

As it stands right now, he leads all rookies with four points and four assists with Chicago Blackhawks phenom Connor Bedard trailing one point behind.

With the opportunity to play on a power play unit with Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, Barrett Hayton and Sean Durzi, Cooley has been able to showcase his creative side becoming an impactful facilitator on the man-advantage.

While Cooley would love to get on the board with a goal, his playmaking is a trait of his game that was not talked about much but he is quietly marking his name as one of the better young playmakers in the NHL.

Logan Cooley spoke with the media ahead of his NHL debut.

The 19-year-old’s speed on the ice is also phenomenal. Cooley has used his blazing speed to draw penalties and generate multiple offensive chances thus far.

Cooley ranks seventh in minutes per game amongst all rookies with 18:37 minutes. Coach André Tourigny trusts Cooley to play critical minutes down the stretch proving that the young center is a reliable player on both sides of the puck.

It’s safe to say the Coyotes organization is happy to have Cooley.

“There's certainly a player in Chicago that was the number one overall pick that's gonna have something to say about that, but we're really excited about Logan Cooley,” Coyotes president Xavier Gutierrez said on Cooley’s chances to win the Calder Trophy.

Through four games, Cooley is having a fantastic start to his young NHL career which should only get better as he continues to adapt to professional play.
