If you're planning on watching the Arizona Coyotes this season, keep an eye out for rookie forward Logan Cooley.
Over the years, the Coyotes haven't had too many players who could be considered superstars but Cooley has that sort of potential which is exciting for a fan base that is yet to experience a Stanley Cup victory.
In order to be successful in the NHL, having linemates that are reliable and useful is critical. Who will Cooley play with this season?
Through training camp and preseason, coach André Tourigny has paired Cooley with Jason Zucker and Dylan Guenther.
Zucker is coming from the Pittsburgh Penguins where he played with the likes of some great players including Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, so to say he is accustomed to being around star players would be an understatement.
The 31-year-old is also coming off one of his best seasons tallying 27 goals, 21 assists and 48 points. Zucker has proven that he is capable of being a consistent goal scorer but has struggled to stay healthy at times, so that is still a huge question mark.
Guenther is in a similar position to Cooley. The 20-year-old played 33 games during the 2022-23 campaign for the Coyotes but this season should be Guenther’s first full year with the team.
It should be interesting to watch both Guenther and Cooley go through all the ups and downs together as they continue to get acclimated to NHL play.
Cooley will benefit greatly from playing alongside a guy he can look up to in Zucker and a person who he can relate to in Guenther.
