Lawson Crouse has emerged as the Arizona Coyotes top scorer as he leads the team with 15 goals.
Crouse actually started the season with zero goals in his first seven games which was a concerning sign for a player that is accustomed to burying the puck in the net.
Everything clicked for the 26-year-old forward on November 1 against the Anaheim Ducks when he finally got on the statsheet actually scoring two goals.
Since that night, Crouse has been unstoppable.
In less than a two month span, Crouse has managed to score 15 goals, really transforming into the team’s most lethal offensive threat.
The best part of Crouse’s game is his electric shot. He is able to snipe the puck from virtually anywhere in the offensive zone.
His shot serves as a valuable tool on the power play. Crouse sits in the bumper position similar to where Nick Schmaltz plays on the first wave. When he is out in open space, he is automatic from that position hence his three power play goals.
For a big guy standing at 6’4’’ and 215 IB, Crouse skates well and is also a strong stickhandler. He uses his body to keep puck possession and prevent the opponent from creating a turnover.
Not only is Crouse a great offensive producer, but is one of the most vocal leaders on this Coyotes team. He has now been in Arizona for eight seasons and through his time in the Valley, he continues to show his selflessness and kind nature.
Crouse never gives himself credit and always talks about his teammates in high regard which just is a true testament to his amazing character.
If he continues at this pace, Crouse is well on his way to scoring 30 plus goals which would shatter his current career high.
