Over the past two seasons, Arizona Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse has proven to be a reliable goalscorer. He has tallied 20 or more goals each of the past two years.
However, to start this year, Crouse has struggled to get on the score sheet as he has been unable to record a single point through the first five games.
Crouse is an extremely important asset for this Coyotes team and they will need him to fix his scoring woes if the team wants to continue elevating their game.
Crouse is a player that is unique. The 26-year-old possesses a great scoring touch, is a really solid skater while standing at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds. Any team would love to have a player like Crouse.
The chances have been there for Crouse to get his first goal but he has just been unable to capitalize thus far.
Playing on the third line, Crouse really balances out the Coyotes forward group. He should serve as the top offensive producer on the bottom-six which is an important role.
When Crouse is playing at a high level, it adds a different element for Arizona that they have just not had yet due to the veteran forward’s slow start.
Playing alongside Nick Bjugstad should be a positive thing. These two players have a lot of potential together as they both have size and use it to their advantage to the opposing teams dismay.
It shouldn’t be time to panic about Crouse’s performance just yet since it’s still very early on in the season but the Coyotes will need him to step up going forward.
