Both Jack McBain and Alexander Kerfoot took the time to talk with students of Fuller Elementary, rewarding them for participating in the Coyotes Reading Program.

Arizona Coyotes forwards Alexander Kerfoot and Jack McBain went to Fuller Elementary in Tempe on Thursday afternoon to reward students participating in the Coyotes Reading Program.

Kerfoot and McBain opened up about their careers with the Coyotes while taking a number of hard-hitting questions from the students of the school.

It was amazing to see both of the players’ personal side off of the ice and watch them impact the lives of children.

“This is what it is all about,” Kerfoot said. “We are fortunate to be able to play a game for a living and something that we love to do and that we are working towards, but at the end of the day, having a platform to be able to provide opportunities for the next generation and be able to come to a school like this and talk to kids it’s what it is all about.”

For the kids, this had to be an amazing experience for them, but it’s also impactful for the players who get the opportunity to make a difference in the community.

“It’s great, it’s great to be able to come here and do it,” McBain said. “I remember when I was younger, it was something I was always looking forward to, being able to meet someone older who plays the sport. I think it’s great, it’s awesome that we can help out.”

Hockey is more than just a sport and it’s these kinds of events that truly show that.
