Allen Americans and Utah Hockey Club reach ECHL affiliation agreement
The Allen Americans and Utah Hockey Club have announced the two organizations have signed an agreement for the Americans to be Utah HC's ECHL affiliate.
Americans Majority Owner La Sonjia Jack had this to say about the new affiliation between the two clubs.
“We would like to thank Utah Hockey Club for their new affiliation with us, We believe this new partnership will help us succeed in delivering an exciting and winning product on the ice in Allen in front of our great fan base. We look forward to strengthening our franchise with the talent our new affiliates have in their pipeline.”
The Americans have had plenty of NHL affiliation since joining the ECHL in the 2014-15 season. The list consists of the San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild, Seattle Kraken, Ottawa Senators and now the aforementioned Utah Hockey Club.
The affiliation agreement is a one-year deal as per Utah. This could mean next season they will have a new ECHL team affiliated with them. Or, these two clubs will negotiate a longer-term deal.
