Could Utah HC be a sleeper pick to make the playoffs in their first season?

The Utah HC has made some serious upgrades over the last few weeks with the acquisition of Mikhail Sergachev, John Marino, and Ian Cole.

They are just an addition upfront away from being true Stanley Cup playoff contenders. Although they have the offensive skill within their forward group, just with the additions on the blue line.

Now the question is, can the Utah HC make the playoffs in their first season?

Yes, I believe they can. They have the skill, a motivating head coach in Andre Toutniey, a very knowledgeable GM in Bill Armstrong, and a great owner in Ryan Smith.

That combination has the makings of being one of the best front offices in the NHL.

The stress that came with playing in Arizona is now gone. The team has the privilege of playing in front of a new fan base that is very passionate about the team.

It would truly be surprising if the team fell short of a playoff berth in their first season.

However, if they do, don't worry Utah fans; they are on the path to being playoff contenders for several years, and this front office will ensure that!
