After showing some promise at the Arizona Coyotes training camp, Maveric Lamoureux will continue his development in the QMJHL.

The Arizona Coyotes assigned defenseman Maveric Lamoureux to the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL on Saturday.

The 19-year-old was selected with the 29th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, one of three Coyotes players drafted in the first round that year.

Last season, Lamoureux was unable to participate at training camp as he underwent shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and remove some bone pieces.

Through his short stint in Arizona this training camp, Lamoureux showed some promise playing in both the Rookie Faceoff and a couple preseason games.

Lamoureux ended on a high note scoring a goal in the Coyotes preseason game on Friday night against the Vegas Golden Knights.

This is not the end for Lamoureux in Arizona. He is one of the team’s most promising young defenseman and will continue to develop his game in the QMJHL this season.
