The Arizona Coyotes gear up for the 2023 NHL Global Series in Australia.

Arizona Coyotes hockey is officially back!

The team arrived in Australia on Monday and immediately got to work beginning their training camp at the O'Brien Icehouse.

The jetlag and exhaustion due to their long flight from Los Angeles to Australia did not bother the Coyotes as the players were just happy to finally be able to hit the ice for the first time.

"It felt great, honestly," Liam O'Brien said via NHL.com’s Amalie Benjamin. "It felt great to be just back in a kind of more intense mode. The practices, they matter, being in camp right now. It's a nice feeling."

Arizona is set to play the Los Angeles Kings in Australia for the 2023 NHL Global Series on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 at Rod Laver Arena.

It was a busy offseason for general manager Bill Armstrong and the Coyotes. Armstrong went out and acquired players that could help the team become more competitive including Sean Durzi, Matt Dumba, Jason Zucker and Alexander Kerfoot.

With all these new additions, this is the time where the Coyotes need to integrate them into the lineup and get all the players in sync.

"It's training camp for us," Andre Tourigny said. "We're excited. We want to go on the ice. We have a lot of new players and we're fortunate to be together as a team, so we want to get going building our thing and how we want to play."

By traveling to Australia, the Coyotes are growing their brand to a global stage which is extremely important for the NHL as the league looks to expand into a variety of markets across the world.

"First time here," Clayton Keller said on going to Australia. "I've heard great things. It looks amazing. Super excited to be here and be able to grow the game and spend some time away from the rink."

The Coyotes will travel to many different cities throughout the 2023-24 season but their journey begins in Australia.
