Arizona Coyotes first-round pick Conor Geekie will have a little change of scenery as he continues his development in the Western Hockey League.

The Wenatchee Wild have traded Geekie to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for defenseman Josh Fluker and Sam Ward, forward Maddix McCagherty and three draft picks.

The 19-year-old has been phenomenal for the Wild, tallying 20 goals, 29 assists and 49 points in just 26 games this season.

As it stands right now, the Wild are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 23-13-3 record while the Broncos sit as the six seed in the Eastern Conference with a 18-15-2 record.

Geekie is fresh off of playing for Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship where he recorded two goals, one assist and three points in five games.

This can be a positive thing for Geekie as now he has another opportunity to play in a totally brand new environment which should only help him continue his development path into the NHL.

The Coyotes selected Geekie with the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and he is one of the team’s most promising young center prospects.
