The Arizona Coyotes select goaltender Michael Hrabal in the second round continuing to build a prospect pool with a ton of size.

The Arizona Coyotes have drafted goaltender Michael Hrabal with the 38th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He was the second goalie selected in the NHL draft just behind Adam Gajan who was taken by the Chicago Blackhawks. with the 35th pick.

The 18-year-old goalie played 31 games for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL this past season where he held a record of 9-13-4 to go along with a .908 save percentage and 2.86 goals against average.

Hrabal's 6-foot-7, 216-pound frame on top of his incredible athleticism makes him a potential franchise goalie in the NHL.

“If there were a word that could best describe Michael Hrabal’s play, it would be “smooth.” It is rare for a young goalie the size of Hrabal to have footwork even equal to that of their peers, but Hrabal is an exception to that stereotype. Hrabal moves efficiently within his crease, implementing proper movement techniques and transitioning effortlessly between them. He is controlled and composed, rarely being caught scrambling,” Colin Hunter of Dobber Prospects wrote.

Hrabal is expected to play at the University of Massachusetts next season.
