The Arizona Coyotes had some positive news coming out of practice today.
Coach André Tourigny announced that Sean Durzi is officially listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
While Durzi is doubtful for the Coyotes matchup on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Flyers, Tourigny actually was expecting his injury to be long term so it seems the Coyotes have escaped the worst case scenario.
Durzi suffered this injury during the Coyotes Monday night game against the Washington Capitals following a heavy hit from Tom Wilson.
Durzi has been having a fantastic year, leading the team with 22:42 minutes per game while tallying five goals, eight assists and 13 points. On top of it all, he is a +10 on the season which really shows his impact.
The 25-year-old has taken the team’s number one defenceman role by storm as his fast and smooth style continues to show its effect on the power play and at the defensive end.
The Coyotes are currently on a five game winning streak and Durzi is a big reason for their recent success.
This team needs Durzi healthy and the fact he will indeed be traveling with the team is a very positive sign.
