The Arizona Coyotes will start Connor Ingram against the New York Rangers on Monday in order to give Karel Vejmelka some rest.

The Arizona Coyotes are making a goaltender change for their upcoming game against the New York Rangers.

Due to back to back games on Monday against the Rangers and Tuesday against the New York Islanders, coach André Tourigny has decided to start Connor Ingram on Monday and Karel Vejmelka on Tuesday according to PHNX Sports' Craig Morgan.

Morgan also stated that there will be some changes to the lineup ahead of tomorrow night’s game.

Vejmelka had an excellent performance to start the season against the New Jersey Devils posting 33 saves with a .917 SV%.

Ingram is going into his second season as the Coyotes backup goaltender. Last year, Ingram had a 6-13-8 record, .907 SV% and 3.37 GAA.

There is not much to read regarding Tourigny’s decision to start Ingram as he is just trying to give Vejmelka a little bit of rest with the team playing three games from Monday to Thursday.

Starting goalies around the NHL not playing back to backs are very common and it is great the Coyotes have a reliable backup that they could go to in Ingram.
