What went down for the Arizona Coyotes in the first round of the NHL Draft?

The Arizona Coyotes had a memorable first round selecting defenseman Dmitri Simashev and left winger Daniil But.

Here are some highlights to recap the night for the Coyotes.

The night started for Arizona with Simashev being selected No. 6 overall.

With their 12th overall selection, the Coyotes picked But, another Russian prospect.

Simashev was elated to see But selected as the two were temmates this past season with Loko Yaroslavl of the MHL in Russia.

The two new prospects for the Coyotes shared a special moment as they embraced each other for the first time since both being selected.

TSN's Craig Button talked about Arizona's two first-round picks and why they make sense for the team.

Simashev spoke to the media following being picked by the Coyotes.
