Arizona Coyotes forward Jason Zucker will be out of the lineup against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night due to trade-related reasons according to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan.
With the NHL Trade Deadline set for March 8, it was highly expected that Zucker would be moved by the Coyotes as he will become a free agent this upcoming summer after signing a one-year $5.3 million contract last offseason.
Through 51 games the 32-year-old has nine goals, 16 assists and 25 points while playing 14:02 minutes per game.
Zucker has played 13 seasons in the NHL for the Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins and Coyotes. He’s tallied 191 goals, 172 assists and 363 points in 679 career games.
By acquiring Zucker, a potential playoff team will get a savvy veteran who is a tremendous presence in the locker room. Teams would also receive reliable forward depth for the playoffs.
