Bill Armstrong met with Coyotes' players on Friday and informed them on the real possibility of relocation to Salt Lake City.

According to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan, players on the Arizona Coyotes have been informed that relocation to Salt Lake City is real.

Morgan added that an official announcement regarding the relocation may be announced as early as April 17, which is the night of the Coyotes’ season finale.

The Athletic confirmed that players were told they’d be given a chance to visit Salt Lake City if the move ends up happening.

Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong met with the team prior to their 3-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night to fill them in on what has been going on and address the issue of relocation.

It was reported by Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli on Wednesday that the Coyotes and Smith Entertainment Group made significant and meaningful progress on an agreement to relocate the team.

The NHL could purchase the Coyotes from Arizona’s owner Alex Meruelo for a deal worth around $1 billion and then the league would sell the Coyotes to Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith for as high as $1.3 billion according to ESPN.

A deal seems to still be in the works, but all signs are pointing in the direction that the Coyotes relocate to Salt Lake City.
