There is some good news regarding Arizona Coyotes defenseman Matt Dumba’s injury.
According to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan, Dumba’s situation is ‘not too serious’ but he did not travel with the team for their three-game road trip against the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes.
Morgan elaborated that the plan is for the 29-year-old to miss the next three games and rest during the upcoming All-Star break where the Coyotes will have over a week off.
Through 44 games this season, Dumba has two goals, three assists and five points while playing 20:04 minutes a night.
Dumba left the Coyotes’ Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Penguins early with an upper-body injury and did not return to action.
In response to this recent development, the Coyotes called-up 2019 first-round pick Victor Söderström from the Tucson Roadrunners.
With the All-Star break coming up, there is no need to rush Dumba back from injury as it’s better to stay on the safer side and give him the necessary time he needs to recuperate.
The All-Star break is really coming at the perfect time for the Coyotes since they are already dealing with some other injuries to players including Barrett Hayton, Nick Schmaltz and Troy Stecher.
By the looks of things, it seems Dumba will be back to play during Arizona’s February 8th matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights.
