The Arizona Coyotes practiced at Mullett Arena for the first time this season ahead of their home opener Saturday afternoon against the Anaheim Ducks.
The team got back from St. Louis late last night but they still hit the ice for practice today due to the 1:00 PM start time on Saturday.
Coach André Tourigny said after practice that Karel Vejmelka will get the start in goal for Arizona’s home opener continuing the trend of switching off between Vejmelka and Connor Ingram who have each started two games respectively up to this point.
The Coyotes exploded offensively scoring six goals against the Blues so Tourigny said he will not make any changes to the lineup aside from the goaltender.
Here are the lines from today’s practice.
Clayton Keller- Barrett Hayton- Nick Schmaltz
Michael Carcone- Nick Bjugstad- Lawson Crouse
Matias Maccelli- Logan Cooley- Jason Zucker
Alexander Kerfoot- Jack McBain- Liam O'Brien
J.J. Moser- Sean Durzi
Travis Dermott- Matt Dumba
Juuso Välimäki- Troy Stecher
Tourigny had the team working on the power play. The first power play unit still consisted of Clayton Keller, Logan Cooley, Nick Schmaltz, Barrett Hayton and Sean Durzi.
The Coyotes went 2-2 through their four-game road trip and look to get over .500 as they are coming off a huge 6-2 win over the Blues.
