The Arizona Coyotes have signed 27-year-old forward Michael Carcone to a two-year, one-way contract.

The Arizona Coyotes signed forward Michael Carcone to a two-year, one-way contract on Wednesday.

Carcone first arrived in Arizona when he was loaned by the Nashville Predators to the Tucson Roadrunners, the Coyotes minor league affiliate on Feb. 5, 2021. During his first year in Tucson Carcone played 35 games and led the team with 15 goals to go along with ten assists and 25 points.

Following Carcone’s breakout year, he signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Coyotes. While the 27-year-old has been in Tucson for the majority of the past two seasons, Carcone has played a total of 30 games for the Coyotes recording six goals, three assists and nine points.

This past season, Carcone had 31 goals, 54 assists and 84 points for the Roadrunners and won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the leading point-getter in the AHL.

“We are very pleased to sign Michael to a two-year contract," Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong. “Michael had a very good season last year leading the entire American Hockey League in scoring and helping Team Canada win a gold medal at the IIHF World Championship. We look forward to having him back next season.”

Carcone also helped lead Team Canada to a gold medal at the 2023 IIHF World Championship recording three goals, three assists and six points.

It seems Carcone has found a home in Tucson and with the Coyotes organization.
