The Arizona Coyotes show confidence in goaltender Ivan Prosvetov giving the 24-year-old a one-year, two-way contract on Sunday.

The Arizona Coyotes agreed on a one-year, two-way contract with goaltender Ivan Prosvetov.

The 24-year-old started seven games for the Coyotes last year earning a 4-3 record, 3.98 goals-against average and .880 save percentage.

Prosvetov spent most of this past season with the Coyotes AHL affiliate the Tucson Roadrunners playing 35 games with the team where he had a 15-13-4 record, 3.06 goals-against average and .900 save percentage.

For this upcoming season, Prosvetov will likely place third on Arizona’s goalie depth chart behind Karel Vejmelka and Connor Ingram.

Prosvetov was drafted by the Coyotes with the 114th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. He is still young with time to grow as a player. However, it seems Prosvetov’s opportunity may be limited for the Coyotes but if given the chance, he must show the organization he has the potential to be a reliable NHL caliber goalie.
