The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Jan Jeník to a one-year, two-way contract on Wednesday.
According to Sportnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Jeník’s new contract will pay him $775,000 at the NHL level and guarantee him $125,000.
Jeník received a qualifying offer from the Coyotes back in July but he ultimately rejected it. Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reported in August that Jeník was reportedly seeking a trade out of Arizona but it seems now that the 23-year-old will be staying with the Coyotes organization.
This past season, Jeník spent most of his time in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners where he had seven goals, 16 assists and 23 points in 30 games.
Jeník was selected by Arizona with the 65th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft and has since played a total of 17 games for the Coyotes over the past three seasons tallying four goals, one assist and five points.
