The Arizona Coyotes are continuing the trend of bringing back their former players signing both defenseman Troy Stecher and forward Alex Galchenyuk.

The Arizona Coyotes are expected to bring back both defenseman Troy Stecher and forward Alex Galchenyuk.

Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong inked Stecher to a one-year $1.1 million contract while giving Galchenyuk one-year two-way contract.

Stecher played 61 games for the Coyotes this past season where he had seven assists but was traded to the Calgary Flames during the trade deadline on March 3.

“We are very pleased to have Troy back with the Coyotes this season,” said Armstrong. “He is a veteran defenseman who skates well, competes hard, and can move the puck effectively. He will be a solid addition to our blueline.”

Galchenyuk played with the Coyotes during the 2018-19 and 2020-21 season for a total of 132 games tallying 25 goals, 37 assists and 62 points.

"We are very pleased to welcome back Alex to our organization," said Armstrong. "He is a hard-working, versatile forward who will add depth to our group.”

Bringing back players who have already played in Arizona seems to be a common theme for Armstrong today as the Coyotes also announced the signing of Nick Bjugstand.
