The Arizona Coyotes sign 34-year-old defenseman steven kampfer.
The Arizona Coyotes have signed veteran defenseman Steven Kampfer to a one-year two-way contract.
Kampfer's most recent stint in the NHL came during the 2020-21 season with the Boston Bruins.
This past season, the 34-year-old played with for the Detroit Red Wings AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins until he was traded to Arizona on March 9.
He would ultimately spend the rest of the year with the Tucson Roadrunners. Between the two minor league teams, Kampfer recorded six goals, 23 assists and 29 points in 59 games.
Through his nine seasons in the NHL, Kampfer has played for the Bruins, Minnesota Wild, Florida Panthers and New York Rangers. Kampfer has 15 goals, 24 assists and 39 points in 231 career games.
Expect Kampfer to join the Coyotes at the start of training camp and compete for a roster spot.
