To start the season, Dylan Guenther and Josh Doan have both shown progress in their devlopment with the Tucson Roadrunners.

While not playing for the Arizona Coyotes just yet, forwards Dylan Guenther and Josh Doan have played well for the Tucson Roadrunners to start the year.
Guenther was drafted by the Coyotes with the ninth pick in the 2021 NHL Draft coming into the organization with a lot of expectation.
After playing 33 games for the Coyotes last season and performing well in the Western Hockey League for the Seattle Thunderbirds, it seemed Guenther would finally get his full time shot in the NHL.
However, it didn’t work out that way as after spending the entirety of training camp with the Coyotes, the team ultimately sent Guenther down to the AHL to further progress his development.
Now with the Roadrunners, Guenther is continuing to show progress tallying a total of two goals, five assists and seven points in eight games.
Doan’s path is a little bit different compared to Guenther’s.
He grew up around the Coyotes due to his legendary father, Shane Doan, serving as captain of the Coyotes for many years.
Josh was drafted 37th overall by Arizona back in 2021 and has since made major strides in his game.
He played two years for the Arizona State Sun Devils and was captain of the team during his second season, showing his natural leadership abilities carried on from his father.
At the end of last season, Josh signed his entry-level contract with the Coyotes and played a handful of games for the Roadrunners.
It was through this training camp and preseason where Josh flashed his true potential. The 21-year-old was a goal machine even completing a hat trick in one of the preseason games.
After an impressive training camp, Josh was also sent down to the Roadrunners where he now has a total of five goals in eight games, continuing to prove what sort of potential he has as a goalscorer.
Both Guenther and Josh should continue to get better as the season progresses and who knows, maybe we’ll see them in a Coyotes uniform soon.
