After 13 seasons in the NHL, former Coyotes forward Derek Stepan announced his retirement on Tuesday.

Former Arizona Coyotes forward, Derek Stepan, officially announced his retirement from the game of hockey on Tuesday.

Stepan played a total of 13 seasons in the NHL for the New York Rangers, Coyotes, Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes. Through his career, Stepan tallied 182 goals, 333 assists and 515 points in 890 games.

Stepan was with the Coyotes from 2017-2020 where he had 39 goals, 80 assists and 119 points in 224 games.

It was a memorable NHL career for Stepan but at just 33-years-old, he is ready to embark on the next chapter of his life wherever that may take him.

"After 13 years in the NHL, I've decided to retire," Stepan said in a statement released by the NHL Players Association. "I want to thank my family and friends for always supporting me and allowing me to live my dreams. I want to thank the four organizations I had the privilege of playing for, and to my teammates for allowing me to be part of their family.

"Finally, I want to thank the fans, it was an honor to play in front of you. I'm forever grateful for this game and I look forward to the next chapter."
