NHL commissioner Gary Bettman reassured fans about the league's commitment to keeping the Coyotes in Arizona on the Pat McAfee Show.

Gary Bettman, the NHL commissioner, continues to reassure the public that he and the league want to keep the Arizona Coyotes in the Valley.
Bettman went on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday and made clear where he stood regarding the Coyotes search for a new arena.
“The Coyotes need a new arena, plain and simple,” Bettman said. “Our hope is that some point this season, we will be in a position to announce a new arena for the Coyotes. That’s the goal because it is an awesome market and it’s a place we want to be in.”

While the Coyotes are in the midst of their second season at Mullett Arena in Tempe, the organization continues to search for a permanent location to play in.
A couple of weeks ago, Coyotes president Xavier Gutierrez told Fox 10 Phoenix that the team is looking to make a public announcement about a potential new arena plan within the next 60 days.
Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo also wrote a letter to the fanbase stating his confidence and commitment to keeping professional hockey in Arizona saying, a new building will “come very soon.”
The Coyotes have been in limbo trying to secure a new arena deal since their plan to build a sports and entertainment district in Tempe fell apart.
Now, fans in the Valley continue to wait and see where their team will play in the future but statements like Bettman’s are certainly reassuring for the Coyotes to stay in Arizona.
