Every Utah Mammoth goal this season carried extra meaning, helping generate a $14,300 donation that will support cancer research, prevention, and patient care across Utah.

Some goals fade into the scorebook. Others leave a lasting mark far beyond the final buzzer.

Every puck the Utah Mammoth buried in the back of the net this season carried a little more weight, and on Tuesday, those goals were transformed into a $14,300 donation from Mountain America Credit Union to Huntsman Cancer Foundation, turning a season of hockey into meaningful support for cancer research and patient care.

The contribution was unveiled during FOX 13's The Place on June 10 after the Mammoth wrapped up their Stanley Cup Playoff run. The donation stems from Mountain America's season-long commitment to contribute $50 for every Utah goal scored, creating a direct connection between the team's offensive success and a cause that reaches thousands of families across the state.

The initiative has become a longstanding tradition. Since the partnership began in 2006, Mountain America has donated more than $550,000 through the program, reinforcing its commitment to investing in communities beyond the ice.

“This donation combines the excitement of Utah hockey with meaningful support for an important cause,” said Nathan Anderson, chief operating officer at Mountain America Credit Union. “Through this unique program, every goal on the ice translates directly into support for cancer research and care. We’re proud that Mountain America’s partnership with the Mammoth is making a difference beyond the rink.”

The funds will benefit Huntsman Cancer Foundation, which supports Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah—the Mountain West's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The donation will help advance groundbreaking research while expanding prevention efforts and patient care services.

“Support like this makes a real difference for the patients and families we serve,” said Raegan Erickson, the corporate partnership manager at Huntsman Cancer Foundation. “Mountain America Credit Union’s commitment and creativity to turning every Utah Mammoth goal into hope for those impacted by cancer is a powerful example of what community partnerships can accomplish.”

For Mountain America, the partnership represents something larger than sponsorship visibility or branding. It is an opportunity to channel the passion surrounding Utah's newest NHL franchise into tangible support for one of the state's most important healthcare missions—proving that the impact of a successful season can extend well beyond the rink and into the lives of those who need it most.
