The Utah Hockey Club's magic finally ran out in a 3-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils Monday at Prudential Center.

With the club taking today off to travel to California in preparation for tomorrow's game against the Anaheim Ducks, here's the big stories that you missed from yesterday's holiday matinee, beginning with a full recap of the loss at The Rock:

One of the bigger headlines that broke during the game was the absence of defenceman Sean Durzi due to an upper-body injury he sustained in the second period, which general manager Bill Armstrong said Tuesday will keep him out for the foreseeable future.

A silver lining, however, was forward Dylan Guenther, who signed an eight-year extension in training camp, was named NHL First Star of the Week for his historic hot start to the season.

Utah HC will face the Ducks tomorrow night at the Honda Center, with puck drop slated for just after 8:00 p.m. MT.
