ICYMI: Utah HC Aims To Extinguish Flames

Mired in a four-game losing streak and in a slump of six losses in seven games, the Utah Hockey Club takes on the Calgary Flames tonight.

A loss would further dent Utah's early playoff hopes with a head-to-head loss against a team chasing down a wild-card spot of their own, and may also heap more pressure on head coach Andre Tourigny.

The club may be reeling after its unthinkable collapse in overtime Monday against San Jose, but Tourigny is still expressing plenty of confidence after a grinding practice yesterday.

They also made their first in-season trade in franchise history, acquiring Olli Maatta from the Detroit Red Wings to help shore up a blue line running thin on veteran presence.

Tonight's game will start at 7:30 p.m. instead of the usual 7:00 p.m. to accommodate the setup of the Delta Center for the team after the Utah Jazz game last night. To see just how crazy the schedule is for the arena, just start here:
