Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports - Jason Zucker Expected to Miss Time With Lower Body Injury

Arizona Coyotes forward Jason Zucker is listed as week-to-week with a lower body injury that he suffered in Saturday’s matchup against the Anaheim Ducks.

While it was unclear when Zucker sustained this lower body injury, it was announced prior to the start of the third period on Saturday that he would not return to the game.

The 31-year-old forward scored two goals over the first five games of the season while averaging 13:05 minutes of ice time.

Losing Zucker is a big blow for the Coyotes as he played a valuable role on the team’s second line alongside Logan Cooley and Matias Maccelli.

Zucker also provided a veteran voice to the locker room. He was doing a great job stepping up as a leader prior to his injury, specifically mentoring Cooley.

The Coyotes also recalled forwards Jan Jeník and Zach Sanford from the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL.

The status of forward Michael Carcone is unclear as he was seen wearing an orange non contact jersey according to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan.
