Despite losing their past five games, Jason Zucker believes it's important for the Coyotes to always look on the bright side of things.

It’s no secret that the Arizona Coyotes have struggled as of late.

They are currently on a five-game losing streak while continuing to plummet down in the Western Conference standings, hindering their playoff chances.

When asked about the team’s recent struggles, Jason Zucker broke down what he feels is their biggest problem.

“I think we’ve actually played some pretty good hockey,” Zucker said. “I think we are going through spurts within those games. Vegas, we had a really tough start. Last game obviously we go up 4-2 and we kind of let down and changed our mindset a little bit. For us it’s about keeping that mindset and playing a full 60. It’s been a theme for us all year to have momentary lapses within a game and that’s something we gotta fix here.”

The Coyotes have certainly had their bad moments through the past few games, but Zucker believes that it is important to look at some of the positives.

“We got one point last game and obviously we wanted both, but we still came away with one, so we are going to look positively at that,” Zucker said. “The Vegas game we are going to say that we had a tough first ten minutes, but we actually played pretty well the last bit of that…”

Despite their game beginning to falter, this Coyotes team has remained united and surprisingly have relayed a positive message following the majority of these recent losses.

It’s important to note that Arizona has gone through a couple brutal losing streaks this season, but have been able to recover and still stay afloat in the Western Conference wild card race.

These are the kinds of moments why general manager Bill Armstrong brought in veteran players like Jason Zucker. Through hard times, it’s critical to have guys that have seen it all when it comes to NHL experience and could use that to keep the team calm amidst multi-game losing streaks.

It hasn’t been easy watching the Coyotes over this short stretch, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
