After an outstanding pre-season, the 26-year-old forward was rewarded with a permanent deal to remain with Utah this year.

On general conference Sunday, President Russell M. Nelson's announcement of 17 new temples around the world -- including Uganda, Mozambique, and Ireland -- weren't the only news grabbing headlines.
The Utah Hockey Club made a big move of their own, signing forward Kailer Yamamoto to a one-year, two-way contract Sunday, after the 26-year-old forward had an outstanding pre-season.
Signed off a professional tryout contract on September 11, Yamamoto scored three goals in the seven pre-season games, and came within a crossbar of getting a fourth in yesterday's gritty win over Colorado.
He scored two of his goals against San Jose to help Utah win that one on the road, paired up with Barrett Hayton and Clayton Keller on the top line.
In a corresponding move earlier Sunday, the club assigned goaltender Matt Villalta, who got his first NHL pre-season win against Los Angeles on Sept. 23, back to the Tucson Roadrunners, which officially trims the roster to 27.
The active NHL roster must stand at 23 by Tuesday's opener against Chicago.
