After being drafted with the 24th pick in the first round, Cole Beaudoin has the chance to change the organizations culture

It wasn't more than a few weeks ago, and essentially no one in Utah knew who Cole Beaudoin was. Now every fan of the Utah Hockey Club knows him.

Beaudoin was drafted with the 24th overall pick in the first round by the Utah HC. He plays for the Barrie Colts in the OHL and is a key piece to the team. In 67 games with the Colts, he scored 28 goals and 34 assists for 62 points.

Beaudoin is described as a heavy hitter, puck-cycling center, with a good release. He also has a very unique approach to faceoffs. If he faces someone in a faceoff who is taking it, on the other hand, he will flip his stick over and take the draw.

Utah's GM Bill Armstrong spoke on Beaudoin at the 2024 NHL Draft and said, “His work ethic might change the culture of our organization.”

The next step for the Ottawa native is to sign his ELC and officially become a member of the Utah HC.

Afterwards, he will likely return to the Barrie Colts next season. He has the potential to make the NHL club in the 2025–26 NHL season, where he will probably start on the third line. Over time, Beaudoin will likely slot in as the team's third-line center in a power forward role.
