Liam O’Brien has been fined for roughing and instigating a fight with Sam Lafferty during the Coyotes' Thursday night matchup against the Canucks.

Arizona Coyotes forward Liam O’Brien has been fined $2,018.23 for roughing Vancouver Canucks forward Sam Lafferty in a game on Thursday night.

All the money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

This is the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement as O’Brien instigated the fight, something that is nothing new to him.

During Thursday’s game, O’Brien got into two fights including one with Nikita Zadorov following his scrap with Lafferty, so it was a busy night for Arizona’s enforcer to say the least.

O’Brien leads the entire NHL with 105 penalty minutes. The 29-year-old is notorious for getting into fights and playing a physical game no matter the consequence that comes with it.

In 43 games this season, O’Brien has three goals, four assists and seven points while playing 9:54 minutes pergame.
