The Arizona Coyotes 2022 third overall pick Logan Cooley throws out the first pitch at the Diamondbacks game.

The Arizona Coyotes and Diamondbacks worlds have collided.

Coyotes prospect Logan Cooley threw out the first pitch at the Diamondbacks game on Thursday night.

The 19-year-old center was drafted by Arizona with the third overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Leading up to Cooley's first pitch, one particular teammate at the Coyotes prospect development camp was not overly confident on how the outcome would turnout.

"I've seen him throw a couple invitations and it didn't look too good so for the viewers cover your eyes, you never know," Coyotes prospect Conor Geekie said.

Cooley was indeed able to get the ball over the plate.

While Cooley is expected to return to the University of Minnesota next season, he has been enjoying his time in Arizona this week for development camp and is excited about his future as a member of the Coyotes.

“Obviously, when you go back to school, everyone’s gonna start speculating about you doing one thing or the other, but no, I’m just focused on becoming a better player and playing for the Coyotes,” Cooley said via PHNX Sports' Craig Morgan.
