With the Coyotes expected to trade Matt Dumba before the trade deadline, Coach André Tourigny confirmed he is unlikely to play on Thursday night.
With the NHL Trade Deadline just one day away, Arizona Coyotes defenseman Matt Dumba is not expected to play in Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
Coach André Tourigny confirmed that while not official yet, Dumba will most likely not play tonight.
“Zucker will not be in the lineup, it’s unlikely that Dumba will be,” Tourigny said. “ It’s a decision that Bill will make soon. He talked about it with me and when he will want you to know he will let you know.”
General manager Bill Armstrong will ultimately make the decision as Tourigny said, but with Dumba likely out the door it makes most logical sense to sit him in order to avoid a potential injury.
In 58 games, Dumba has four goals, six assists and 10 points while recording 20:04 minutes per game.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been one of the teams linked as a potential fit for Dumba’s services.
The 29-year-old signed a one-year $3.9 million contract last summer and is expected to become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason.
