Nick Bjugstad is listed as day-to-day after suffering a mysterious injury during the Coyotes' Saturday afternoon matchup against the Devils.

Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Bjugstad is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury according to Patrick Brown.

Coach André Tourigny announced at Monday’s practice that Bjugstad will be evaluated before the Coyotes’ game against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night.

Bjugstad left the Coyotes’ Saturday afternoon matchup against the New Jersey Devils early and ultimately did not return. The cause of this injury is still unknown.

The Coyotes recalled forward Nathan Smith from the Tucson Roadrunners on emergency basis, so it seems there is a chance Bjugstad misses at least the next game.

In 67 games, the 31-year-old center has 17 goals, 20 assists and 37 points while averaging 17:20 minutes of ice time.

Barrett Hayton is expected to be out a while, so the potential loss of Bjugstad would not make matters any better.

It’s unclear how much time Bjugstad will miss if any at all.
