Nick Schmaltz left Tuesday night's game with an undisclosed injury as he now listed as day-to-day and is questionable for the Coyotes' next matchup.

Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Schmaltz is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury suffered on Tuesday night.

The 27-year-old left last night’s game in the second period and did not return to action as the Coyotes lost 3-2 to the Flames in overtime.

Coach André Tourigny spoke postgame and provided very little detail on what sort of injury Schmaltz actually suffered.

“He’s day-to-day, questionable for next game, but he should not be that long,” Tourigny said.

In 42 games played, Schmaltz has 13 goals, 15 assists and 28 points while serving a valuable role on the team’s first line alongside Clayton Keller.

The Coyotes next game is on Thursday night against the surging Vancouver Canucks, so Schmaltz’s presence will definitely be critical if they do want to pull off the upset on the road.
