Ryan and Ashley Smith and the Utah Hockey Club are here -- on social media!

I promised I would feature the new Utah Hockey Club social outlets, and here we go.

With the sale of the now-deactivated Arizona Coyotes completed Thursday, Ryan and Ashley Smith and the state of Utah now officially has its first professional sports team since the WNBA's Utah Starzz called the Delta Center home.

(The Salt Lake Stallions of the short-lived Alliance of American Football don't count for me, sorry.)

And naturally, the first thing the team announced was their color scheme and branding, an intentional tribute to the Utah Jazz.

(You add purple to this color scheme as an accent? Whoo, now that would be fire!)

It probably won't take long for the team to gain a following on social media, especially with the welcome video they released detailing the first few months.

But now that Utah is officially on social media, it marks yet another big step forward to connecting with the community.

The next big step comes in two weeks at the draft night party, where merchandise will officially go on sale.

I guess the only concern should be if they'll have enough for everyone.
