After missing the past five games with a lower-body injury, Sean Durzi will make his return for the Coyotes tonight against the Sharks.

Sean Durzi is set to make his return to the lineup for the Arizona Coyotes tonight against the San Jose Sharks.

Durzi went down with a lower-body injury in a game against the Washington Capitals on December 5 after getting hit by Tom Wilson.

The 25-year-old defenseman returned to action to play the Boston Bruins on December 9 but has since missed the past five games.

This is great news for the Coyotes. Prior to his injury, Durzi led the team with 22:25 of ice time per game, serving as the Coyotes number one defenseman.

Durzi’s presence will specifically impact the Coyotes on the power play as they have struggled a bit on the man advantage since he went down. JJ Moser has slotted in on the Coyotes first wave of the power play, but expect Durzi to fill that role now that he is back.

Juuso Välimäki will be a healthy scratch tonight with Durzi making his return with coach André Tourigny opting to go with 12 forwards and six defensemen.
