The wildly popular site was closed last week, but don't worry, as free agency continues, keep up with a different site!

As the 2024-25 NHL season opens, a traditional powerhouse for salary cap issues won't be present.

CapFriendly, a source for NHL money mover enthusiasts, closed down last Wednesday at 12:01 a.m. ET, leaving behind a legacy of nine years of money-related news, following its purchase by the Washington Capitals organization.

As you would expect, the reaction was overwhelmingly one of sadness; many insiders around the league like Frank Seravalli have directed fans to the site for many years to learn about the intricacies of keeping teams in line financially.

    But have no fear, everyone.

As previously disseminated on The Hockey News' page dedicated to the Toronto Maple Leafs, fans can still hit up PuckPedia for more on salary cap issues and financial challenges for all 32 active NHL franchises.

The Utah Hockey Club, as it stands, currently stands at $9.92 million under the salary cap, which would allow room for one or two more mid-level or veteran minimum signings, even a couple of PTO contracts, as Spencer and I will highlight in coming weeks.

Stay tuned to our site on The Hockey News for more on Utah's coming moves, which will be key to watch.
