With his name officially signed in ink, here's what you missed about Utah Hockey Club's inaugural draft pick.

A couple weeks ago, we said it was Tij time.

After signing him to his entry-level deal, Utah Hockey Club now has their biggest piece of the prospect puzzle locked in.

The no. 6 selection of the draft was chosen over prospects like Sam Dickinson, Zeev Buium, and Cole Eisermann, among others, as Utah seeks to boost its offence and add to its deep pool of forwards.

Iginla, the son of Hockey Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla, scored 47 goals, totaling 84 points for the Kelowna Rockets, after leading the Seattle Thunderbirds to the WHL title the previous year as a 16-year-old.

He's speedy with a quick shot release, which was on full display during prospect camp in Park City, though he's also a person of great character, telling reporters in his first press conference on June 30 in Salt Lake that he credits his father, Jarome, for helping him control what he can control.

With his ELC signed, it likely means he will start opening night against Chicago on October 8, barring any injuries or setbacks until then. Where he will actually slot in the lineup remains to be seen, though you would think Iginla is going to be either on the 2nd or 3rd line.
