The 2024 NHL Draft is now less than 24 hours away from opening at the Sphere at Las Vegas.
And with it, the new NHL season unofficially opens, with free agency soon to follow.
If you can believe it, that means the league has played 107 full seasons since its formation in 1917.
The Original Six has stayed the same (New York Rangers, Chicago, Montreal, Boston, Toronto, Detroit), despite all the teams moving and changing after that, including the Second Six era in 1967 (St. Louis, Oakland, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles).
The Utah Hockey Club can now be added to that list.
While this tweet may make a lot of die-hards feel old, it's a reminder of just how big the league has become.
Now in 24 hours, Utah and 31 other teams will get to add to their history by fulfilling young men's dreams during the NHL draft in Las Vegas.
We can't wait.
