Utah should sign Salt Lake City native Trevor Lewis for their inaugural season

Utah is planning its first season as an NHL franchise. They are expected to be very aggressive this off-season.

They will likely talk to some of the bigger names as free agents to test the open market. Players like Brandon Montour, Sam Reinhart, and more.

They will also have a real chance to rebuild their backend by adding as many NHL-calibre defensemen as needed to be successful in their first season.

One player that makes a lot of sense for Utah is veteran forward Trevor Lewis.

Lewis is a Salt Lake City native who could finally have the chance to play for Utah in the NHL, and it makes sense for both sides.

For Lewis, he gets the chance to play in front of his friends and family. While also playing for Utah in their first season in the NHL.

As for Utah, they can benefit from someone who can provide a young team with veteran experience.

Being a 16-year NHL veteran, Lewis doesn’t have a lot of time left before having to pick up the skates. It would be surreal for him to be able to spend what could be his last NHL season with Utah in their inaugural season.
