The Arizona Coyotes will get some reinforcements on the defensive side of the puck very soon.
According to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan, Matt Dumba and Travis Dermott may make their returns to the lineup on Tuesday when the Coyotes are set to face the Tampa Bay Lightning while Juuso Välimäki returned to practice for the first time.
Arizona has really been depleted by injuries and as a result have struggled defensively as of late.
Dermott suffered an upper-body injury earlier this month and has been out for the past couple of weeks while Matt Dumba was only out on Saturday night with an apparent lower-body injury.
If these two defencemen both make their return tomorrow that would help the Coyotes tremendously especially since Vladislav Kolyachonok is now listed as week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
While Välimäki was back at practice, Morgan reported that he is not quite ready to make a return to the lineup as he will take more time to recover from a face injury.
Injuries may be a recurring theme for the Coyotes over the past few weeks but it seems their luck is finally starting to change.
